LKQ Digraph - Network Investment
LKQ Digraph – part of the LKQ UK and Ireland group of companies – has announced a multimillion-pound investment into bolstering its operations, as it seeks to cement its position as the leading commercial parts distributor to the independent aftermarket.
The business, which specialises in supplying HGV, coach and bus parts and accessories, has outlined ambitious plans to achieve national network coverage, supported by increased stock depth and enhanced logistics capability, to allow it to deliver unrivalled service to its customers across the UK.
The plans include opening five new branches across the South and East of the UK before the end of 2025 – a combination of locations shared with sister business LKQ Euro Car Parts, alongside new sites identified as being strategically important for their proximity to LKQ Digraph customers. The next new branch to open will be in Orpington, Greater London, building on the successful opening of the Sunderland branch in March.
This network expansion will be underpinned by the ongoing integration of the LKQ Digraph range into LKQ’s 1 million sq foot T2 central distribution centre in Tamworth. To date, this programme has seen T2 become home to up to 20,000 fast-moving product lines which now benefit from overnight deliveries into the LKQ Digraph branch network and timed deliveries out to customers – minimising downtime and getting more vehicles back on the roads, sooner.
An investment of around £200,000 has also facilitated the installation of specialised heavy lifting machinery at T2 this year, meaning the business can stock items weighing up to 100kg, like brake discs, clutch kits and flywheel kits, to go out on overnight delivery services, too.
The move represents the latest step in Digraph’s integration into the LKQ UK & Ireland group of companies since its acquisition in July 2023 – a landmark moment since which the business has benefited from access to LKQ’s unrivalled logistical capability and commitment to sustainability, while enjoying record sales and earning the accolade of the IAAF’s 2024 CV Distributor the Year.
Nick Bellwood, Business Director at LKQ Digraph said: “As part of LKQ UK and Ireland, we are uniquely placed to drive the commercial vehicle aftermarket forward. That means combining our specialist knowledge and longstanding customer relationships with LKQ’s cutting-edge digital and operational capabilities and broader aftermarket expertise – not to mention the unrivalled resources and investment we can tap into.
“Whenever a customer calls, we work tirelessly to establish which part is needed and where, and to establish how quickly we can source it. And with this investment, that becomes easier and faster for all parties. By expanding our national footprint and integrating with LKQ’s logistics operation, we increasingly have end-to-end control of the parts supply process and are closer than ever to our customers – reducing risk, improving speed of service and building resilience not just into our business, but into our customers’ businesses and the market as a whole.”
