LKQ launches new UK garage concept to support garage owners
LKQ has launched AUTOFY in the UK, introducing a new workshop proposition designed to help owners of developing garages simplify the day-to-day running of their businesses.
AUTOFY is already established within LKQ’s European workshop network. In Central Europe, the brand brings together 800 garages across the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
The UK launch builds on its success in central Europe, bringing a distinct proposition developed around the needs of developing UK workshops. AUTOFY will focus on reducing the time and complexity involved in managing a garage, helping owners spend less time on day-to-day administration and more time developing their businesses, maximising their workshops’ potential and creating opportunities for sustainable growth.
Members will receive access to LaunchControl, an inclusive garage management system created for workshops moving on from paper diaries and whiteboards, replacing a basic digital system or setting up their business for the first time.
LaunchControl brings workshop bookings, customer and vehicle records, job cards, invoicing, payments and reporting together in one place. Its integration with LKQ Euro Car Parts also allows garages to order parts directly from a job card without switching between systems.
Louise Davies, head of concepts for LKQ UK & Ireland, said: “AUTOFY already has a strong foundation within LKQ’s European workshop network, and we’ve shaped the concept for the UK around helping developing garages to grow and thrive.
“It’s designed to make life much easier for garage owners - by bringing together practical tools and support to make the work around each repair simpler. That means less time dealing with administration and more time helping customers and getting vehicles back on the road.”
AUTOFY members will also have access to LaunchPad, a mobile-first technician interface showing assigned jobs, inspections and workshop tasks. Technicians can record notes and customer concerns, carry out guided vehicle inspections and capture photographs using a phone or tablet.
LaunchBay will help garages establish and manage a professional online presence. It enables workshops to create their own branded website, offer online booking and give customers access to estimates, approvals, reminders and vehicle service history.
The customer-facing tools are intended to reduce routine phone calls and administration while helping developing garages provide the convenient, transparent experience motorists increasingly expect.
Eligible AUTOFY members will also receive three practical training days through LKQ Academy: two focused on business development and one for a course of their choice. Courses available include running a profitable garage, managing customer experience and preparing to become an EV workshop.
Louise Davies continued: “AUTOFY gives garages access to the kind of tools and expertise that can otherwise be difficult to bring together when you are running a business. It allows them to remain proudly independent, without having to manage every challenge on their own.”
The UK launch forms part of LKQ’s wider commitment to helping independent garages grow by giving them access to the parts, training, tools and support they need to keep more work in their workshops and serve customers effectively.
