Renewed agreement secures a nationwide supply of batteries and OEM-specification parts for the RAC’s breakdown patrols and Approved Garages

LKQ Euro Car Parts has extended its contract with the RAC to remain the primary supplier of batteries and automotive components until April 2031. This decade-long partnership supports the RAC’s national network of mechanics, breakdown patrols, and its service, maintenance, and repair division.

Batteries are a central focus of the agreement, addressing one of the UK’s leading causes of vehicle breakdowns. The necessity of a resilient supply chain was demonstrated in January during Storm Goretti, where LKQ Euro Car Parts reported its highest-ever sales, delivering over 50,000 batteries in four days.

Kevan Wooden, CEO at LKQ UK & Ireland, stated:

“The RAC is trusted by millions of motorists to get them moving again – and we’re proud to play a part in that mission. This contract extension reflects the strength of a partnership built over more than 10 years, founded on shared values of reliability, quality and putting customers first.”

The agreement ensures that RAC patrols maintain rapid access to OEM specification parts through LKQ’s nationwide distribution infrastructure. RAC Chief Executive Dave Hobday added:

“Continuing our long-standing relationship with LKQ Euro Car Parts ensures our mechanics have reliable access to premium quality batteries and parts through a trusted nationwide supply chain, so our members can have complete peace of mind on the road.”

The partnership continues to support the RAC Approved Garages network, facilitating efficient fault resolution and vehicle uptime for motorists across the UK.
